Our Mission

Originally founded as Students for Responsible Business in 1993, Net Impact has developed from a great idea shared by a few business students into a mission-driven network of over 15,000 new leaders for better business. Through our central office and over 120 student and professional chapters worldwide, we offer a portfolio of programs to help members broaden their business education, refine their leadership skills, and pursue their professional goals, while building their network.

The impact of business in our world is unparalleled by any other institution. Today’s business leaders are in a unique position to influence society for years to come, and with this comes monumental responsibility. Business leaders can ignore this responsibility, thereby exacerbating problems such as economic inequality, environmental degradation, and social injustice – problems that will compromise our ability to do business in the long run. Or, as business leaders, we can realize our potential to create lasting social change. Net Impact exists for this purpose – to harness the power of business to create a better world.

Net Impact’s mission is to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact. We believe that business can both earn a profit and create positive social change. Net Impact helps us to transform this ideal into measurable results, enabling members to use business for social good in their graduate education, careers, and communities.
